WHO WE

ARE

The Founders...

It was after an evening catch-up sesh with tea and biscuits that Maiya and Henry decided they were fed up with the way the government worked. They understood that the government at its core couldn't be changed, but the fact that so many basic human rights and needs are ignored time after time was something they couldn't understand.

It was then that they decided to start a campaign in order to try and get some of those issues sorted. That campaign is Cactus.

The Team...

We wouldn't be able to do the work we do without our fantastic team. Below are the volunteers we rely on in order to brainstorm, produce amazing product designs, and create new ways to challenge UK law and legislation for the better.

Why Cactus?

When it was decided that they'd start a campaign, it took some time to choose that one topic that would make people listen and join in. Maiya suggested that there be an icon to represent the campaign for equality and, after some discussion, a cactus was chosen.

Why?

Because a cactus has no gender.

A cactus has no race.

A cactus has no sexuality.

A cactus is simply a cactus, no questions asked.

So they took the idea and went with it, creating Cactus. It's not a charity or organisation, but simply a way to communicate the theme of the message - equality. (Plus it looks cute)
