OUR MISSION
For Gender, Race + Sexuality...
Cactus is a campaign founded to resolve the glaring issues in UK law. The rights of everyday people who just so happen to not fit our perfect box are getting increasingly smaller. How much do you know about your human rights? Or the Equality Act? Or even the Gender Recognition Act?

Most people don't know that there is legislation there to protect them and that's partly because it doesn't do enough. We feel that these acts are too vague to actually protect those it was made for.

Under the Equality Act, an employer cannot discriminate against you because of the colour of your skin, your sexuality or your gender. And yet -
-
Black people who leave school with A-levels typically get paid 14.3% less than their white peers
-
In 2019 the gender pay gap was 17.3% in the UK, which means that on average, women were paid approximately 83p for every £1 men were paid
-
One in eight trans people (12 per cent) have been physically attacked by customers or colleagues in the last year

This isn't good enough.

We want to raise awareness of these issues and help educate people across the country as to what their rights are, and what can be done to improve them. Help us help the UK.
